What I am currently reading... Oh and some other stuff

So I figured I would do a new post on what I am currently reading or will read. That is all. The Quarter has started so I am starting to get busy. I am hoping to start my independent study and start my research project. This hopefully could turn into a thesis in Grad School in the near future.

I am about to start reading this Ethnography by Steven Gregory called The "Devil Behind The Mask: Globalization and Politics"  for my Anthropology 470 course Globalization and Power. I just checked out a book from my University library called "The Bases of Empire: The Global Struggle against U.S. Military Posts" by Dr. Catherine Lutz, professor of Anthropology at Brown University. I guess I was the first person ever to check out the book at our Library. That didn't surprise me at the least. Not to many people care about the Militarization of culture in our society and that we are all living in a Modern day Rome. An Empire. A Militarized State/Empire.

I will just keep checking out the book until I finish reading it. No one is going to check it out anyways. I bet when I checked out this book, the transaction was sent to you know who. The State. It's common knowledge that this surveillance via wiretapping, emails, library checkouts, etc get sent to some fusion center somewhere. Fusion centers are these centers that work along with local and National law enforcement and intelligence agencies to collect information on U.S. Citizens. Essentially spying on us. I think the closest Fusion center here in the I.E. is in Santa Ana and LA.

The Unblind in 2013

Well I said I hope to start blogging and writing on my blog much more in 2013. The reason I created this blog in the first place was to start blogging and writing about issues of Injustice being committed on a daily basis, specifically the injustice committed by the Hegemonic Powers that be: Those apart of this Global elite apparatus that include my own Country I reside in the United States and its various government agencies, Bankers and Corporations and whoever is behind the curtain pulling the strings and their allies around the world, and whoever else commits injustice to all humans around the World we live in today.

The direction of this blog will come with an Anthropological twist. I am an Undergraduate Anthropology Major at California State University, San Bernardino and will finally finish my undergrad in June 2013. It's been a long journey of almost a decade since I finished High School in 2004. I changed Majors and Minors various times throughout the journey and faced many trials and tribulations and almost gave up a few times in the process.  All awhile I am accumulating student debt that I am dreading to have to face with slim job prospects out there for "Fresh College Graduates"  and I am about to enter a work force that is hanging by a thread. Fiscal cliff anyone? LOL. Not to mention that Anthropology is a social science discipline that you choose as a career  not for the love of the money as most college students choose their majors  on this basis alone, as I once did when I was once a Business Administration Major with a Concentration in Marketing (See: Anthropology: Worst Major for Corporate Tool, Best Major to Change Your Life)

Anthropology fulfills the need that has been inside me since birth, to help change the world and make it better for all humans (I think being born with a disability,  my upbringing,  environment, and most of all being human have contributed to this need). I know I am only one man, one human in this vast Universe but I have made it my life long goal in life. Anthropology will be a tool I will use to accomplish this. I am going to Graduate School and hopefully as soon as this upcoming August 2013. I am applying for the Applied Anthropology Masters program at San Jose State University in hopes of studying under Anthropologist Dr. Roberto Gonzalez. I was going to wait it out a year and apply to PhD programs for 2014 but  I don't want to sit around and linger for a year and then somehow never return to school so I will shoot for a PhD program after my Masters. As with this blog, my focus will be to study militarism and Culture (Military Industrial Complex), The Surveillance State (Police State) and Counterinsurgency. I am also interested in Post Colonialism and Social movements and I guess I fall under the Applied Anthropology/Socio-cultural Anthropology field, since ultimately I am studying to be a Cultural Anthropologist.

I figure no one will read this post since I don't really have an audience but my next post will be about the formation of a partnership between U.S. Intelligence Agencies like the CIA, FBI, NSA, and Homeland Security and Universities across the U.S. and specifically Social science and Anthropology's role, which has been  well documented by Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. David Price of St. Martin's College in Lacy, Washington.  The most intiguing part: My University CSUSB and my own College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is participating.

Here are some books:

1. Militarizing Culture: Essays on the Warfare Sate by Dr. Gonzalez

2. Weaponizing Anthropology: Social Science in Service of the Militarized State

3. Threatening Anthropology: McCarthyism and the FBI’s Surveillance of Activist Anthropologists

The last 2 are written by Dr. David Price.

Through struggle,

"The Truth keeps callin' me and I'm a live to tell the story"

Hello world. How's it going? Just a quick update. I will finally start writing in this blog on a weekly basis. I am really busy but I feel I need to squeeze this in there. I will be writing for the rest of my life doing research as an Anthropologist, Activist and to speak my mind on issues that I feel are important.

Writing is a great tool for critical thinking, creativity, change, Questions and Challenges, reflection, fun and most of all, It is part of being a Human. This is going to be my space and practice never hurts.

I will alter the focus of the Blog just a bit. I will write about my life as an Anthropology Student and Student Organizer and the triumphs and struggles of Social Justice and in my life.  I chose to follow the rabbit hole............

"The Truth Keep's callin' me and I"m a live to tell the story"

"The American Dream" (Video)

I came across this video while browsing YouTube searching for anything pertaining to the Federal Reserve and it's corrupt practices. The Video is an animated film called  "The American Dream". It's only 30 mins long but this video does a great job of explaining how we got into this Economic Crisis that we are in today. It is very informative and also entertaining. I suggest that you watch this video to learn more about how we became an economic system build on Debt and how this Country is truly run by a few Greedy Tyrants who want a New World Order. The Federal Reserve must be stopped. Share this blog, share this video and spread the word.

The Masters of Horror

The Masters of War
What is this all for?
For the Poor to destroy the poor?
So the few can have more?
The Masters of Horror.

I have't wrote a blog in awhile. I've been really busy with School. I wouldn't call this a poem. A little too short for my usual liking but this just came to my mind and I had to write it and share it. These words started flowing through my mind while I was watching a Documentary of a Marine's struggle after returning from Afghanistan. The movie is called "Hell and Back Again" and it is available on Netflix. It's really sad that poor people fight a meaningless war while the Masters of War pull the strings for their benefit. The 1% don't give a damn if these Soldiers die, If people in the Middle East or around the world die, or if I die. All they care about is that piece of paper. People are dying for a piece of Paper. This is all Blood to feed the dollar tree. They must be stopped. Wake up and we can defeat these Global Evil Elite's. We the People shall overcome!

Internet Wars: New Bill H.R.1981, SOPA and PIPA's Evil Cousin

SOPA's defeat this past Friday in Congress and after massive protests  took place on Wednesday in opposition of both bills that would censor the internet similar to China, is not the end of the War against the Internet. Thanks to the massive protest over a 162 million people viewed Wikipedia's Anti-SOPA message and Google collected 7 million petition signatures in opposing both SOPA (Stop Online Privacy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act), but new legislation has been introduced by Senator Lamar Smith, the same guy who introduced SOPA to limit the free flow of information. H.R. 1981, or " Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers ACT 2011", is using The Fight against Child Pornography to severely censor the internet here in the U.S. The Legislation Bill if passed, would allow your internet service provider to track your credit card purchases or your online banking activity among other things, through storing your IP info and your search history for 18 months at a time. We won the battle this past Friday to save the Internet, but now we must keep fighting and win the  war!

STOP SOPA: Google decides to Join Online SOPA Protest.

Zach Carter of the Huffington Post Reports  that Google has joined the 7,000 other websites which include Big Players on the internet like Wikipedia, Reddit, Mozilla, and WordPress in solidarity in protesting The STOP Online Privacy Act on Wednesday. The Bill would severely Censor the Internet in the United States similar to what the Chinese Government has implemented in China. Free Speech Activist fear that this bill  if passed, would basically destroy the very function the internet provides, the free flow of information. Movie Studio's and Major Record Labels are spearheading the bill with support. If SOPA passes Congress, we will be entering into new territory, where freedom of speech has essentially been dismantled along with Congress and The Obama Administration's passage of the NDAA or National Defense Authorization Act, which basically ends the Bill of Rights as we know it.
