STOP SOPA: Google decides to Join Online SOPA Protest.
Zach Carter of the Huffington Post Reports that Google has joined the 7,000 other websites which include Big Players on the internet like Wikipedia, Reddit, Mozilla, and WordPress in solidarity in protesting The STOP Online Privacy Act on Wednesday. The Bill would severely Censor the Internet in the United States similar to what the Chinese Government has implemented in China. Free Speech Activist fear that this bill if passed, would basically destroy the very function the internet provides, the free flow of information. Movie Studio's and Major Record Labels are spearheading the bill with support. If SOPA passes Congress, we will be entering into new territory, where freedom of speech has essentially been dismantled along with Congress and The Obama Administration's passage of the NDAA or National Defense Authorization Act, which basically ends the Bill of Rights as we know it.
